{Vybz Kartel}
Recent crossover projects from Diplo or Major Lazer have changed alot peoples perceptions of dancehall. Vybz Kartel's (with Brooklyn-based electronic producer Dre Skull) new album Kingston Story is dancehall inspired by ’90s-’00s hip hop with a club sound. In particular, I can't get enough of the memories of falling in love tune "Mi Remember".

So many great artists coming out of Chile (Javiera Mena, Gepe, Alex Antwandter, Manuel Garcia), now get ready to add Adrianigual to that list. Hailing from the capital city of Santiago, they are a disco-rock band that have just released their second album titled Éxito Mundial.
The first thing I noticed was how much this sounded like Alex Antwandter, so it wasn't a big surprise when I discovered that he produced the album.

Beats Rhymes & Life is a documentary directed by Michael Rapaport about one of the most influential and groundbreaking musical groups in hip-hop history. A fan himself, Rapaport sets out on tour with A Tribe Called Quest in 2008, when they reunited to perform sold-out concerts across the country, almost ten years after the release of their last album, The Love Movement. As he travels with the band members (Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White), Rapaport captures the story of how tenuous their relationship has become; how their personal differences and unresolved conflicts continue to be a threat to their creative cohesion. Geko is a New York-based DJ who digs deep into indigenous folk songs and blends them with electronic beats. I came across his infectious tune "Pa la Escuela Nene" featuring Maria Mulata (Geko Jones vs Frikstailers). I just can't get enough of the call-and-response chorus, so don't be surprised if this ends up on a future mix.
