Is it too soon to include Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper in my top ten albums of the year?
Julian Plenti is the alter ego of Interpol frontman Paul Banks, who releases his debut solo album this week. Banks explores a wider territory than with Interpol and even reaches an uplifting moment or two (most notably on the Polyphonic Spree-esque "Unwind"), while others tend to lean towards the melancholy.
It was also announced that Julian Plenti will be making a live appearance in September and that he will perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday, August 7th.
